The farmer behind the farm

Meet Chris

Our work is shaped by the experience and perspective of its founder, Chris, whose background blends agricultural science, public service, and a long commitment to food safety.

Chris holds a Doctor of Plant Medicine (D.P.M.) and an M.S. in Entomology & Nematology from the University of Florida. His training spans plant pathology, entomology, nematology, soil health, diagnostics, pest management, and biological control — disciplines normally reserved for large agricultural systems, now guiding a small farm with uncommon scientific oversight.

Before launching the farm's delivery program, Chris worked as a Commercial Horticulture Agent for UF/IFAS Extension in Duval County, helping growers, landscapers, and homeowners adopt practical and sustainable production practices based on the latest research.

Prior to that, he served as the Lead Biological Scientist for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS), directing region-wide biological control programs for two major invasive pests:

  • Air Potato Vine — managing mass-rearing and coordinated release of the Air Potato Leaf Beetle to suppress one of Florida's most damaging invasive plants.
  • Asian Citrus Psyllid — leading biological control releases to support citrus growers and homeowners in the fight against citrus greening disease.

Chris has also served over 16 years in the U.S. Army, working in preventive medicine and medical entomology. His experience includes food facility inspection, water quality oversight, sanitation, and environmental health — all of which shape the way produce is harvested, handled, and packaged on the farm today.

His approach is simple: clean fields, clean hands, clean food.

Our farm & delivery service

Since 2015, our farm has focused on growing diverse, seasonal crops using responsible, low-input methods that protect soil health, reduce pest pressure, and keep our fields productive year-round.

Today, we offer two ways for our community to enjoy what we grow: U-Pick experiences for families who love getting into the field, and a year-round produce delivery service for households who want high-quality fruits and vegetables brought directly to their doorstep.

A better kind of CSA

You customize every delivery. You tell us your preferences, likes, and dislikes, and we build your bag around exactly what you actually use.

How we grow

While we're not certified organic, our goal is higher than a label. Everything we do is guided by plant health, environmental responsibility, and food-safety principles — not marketing terms.

Why it matters to you

This background isn't about titles — it's about trust. Your produce is grown by someone who understands plant health at a deep level, respects the environment, and treats food safety with the seriousness it deserves.

Save money on what you actually use

You choose every item in your bag, ensuring you pay only for what your household enjoys. Less food waste, smarter spending, better value.

A local farm you can trust

We're not a warehouse or a third-party delivery service. We grow it ourselves, curate it ourselves, deliver it ourselves — and stand behind every item.
